Relationships can bring deep joy, but they can also be a source of stress, conflict, and misunderstanding. In couples and family therapy, we create a supportive space where each voice can be heard and valued. Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work toward building healthier ways of relating to one another.
Whether you’re navigating communication challenges, trust issues, parenting struggles, or family transitions, therapy offers a place to find clarity and connection. Our work focuses on understanding the emotions underneath conflict, strengthening bonds, and fostering resilience within your relationships.
This process isn’t about blame—it’s about working together to create balance, mutual respect, and deeper understanding. By slowing down and looking at the bigger picture, couples and families can move toward stronger, more authentic connections.
Therapy is a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Many adults come in carrying layers of stress, anxiety, depression, or struggles with self-worth that feel heavy to hold alone. In our work together, we explore the patterns and past experiences that may be shaping how you feel today, while also building practical tools to manage difficult emotions. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, helping you uncover clarity, strengthen resilience, and begin to see yourself with more understanding and acceptance. Whether you’re working through painful experiences, navigating relationships, or simply wanting to feel more grounded, therapy offers a place for growth and healing.
Youth therapy is a space for young people to feel heard, supported, and accepted as they navigate the challenges of growing up. Whether it’s managing anxiety, building self-esteem, coping with family changes, or simply finding clarity in who they are, our sessions focus on meeting them where they’re at. Together, we explore their experiences, emotions, and strengths while introducing tools that help with regulation, confidence, and healthy expression. The goal is to create a safe, authentic relationship where youth can process what’s on their mind, discover their inner resilience, and build the skills they need to feel more grounded in themselves and their world.
There’s something about sitting under the stars, feeling the warmth of the fire, and just talking. No walls, no pressure — just space to breathe, reflect, and be real.
Bonfire Therapy Sessions are all about slowing down and connecting — with yourself, your thoughts, and what really matters. Whether you’re working through anxiety, stress, low self-worth, or just feeling a little lost, this space helps things feel lighter and more open.
Together, we’ll talk, laugh, reflect, and let the calm of nature do some of the healing, too. It’s not about fixing everything at once — it’s about creating moments that bring you back to yourself.
So, grab a blanket, pull up a chair, and let’s see where the conversation takes us.
About Me
Hi, I’m Brooke Hrkac, the therapist behind Lumena Psychotherapy. I’m not only a Registered Psychotherapist (Q), but also a mom of three and a single parent, located in Fergus, ON. These roles have shaped me in countless ways and deeply influence how I connect with the people I work with. I understand that life can be messy, complicated, and full of both challenges and moments of joy—and I bring that understanding into the therapy room.
My style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment. Together, we’ll work through struggles like anxiety, depression, self-worth, relationship challenges, or past wounds that continue to resurface.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, I draw on approaches that resonate with you, whether that’s exploring your story, developing tools to regulate emotions, or building a stronger connection to yourself and others. My goal is to help you find clarity, strengthen resilience, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned with your values.
Being a mom has taught me the importance of patience, humor, and grace—for others and for ourselves. I bring those same qualities into my practice, meeting you where you are and walking alongside you as you take steps toward healing and growth.
